A law firm in Garden City, NY, is seeking an Employment Law Attorney with 1-6 years of experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment law and be able to provide legal counsel and representation to clients on various employment-related matters.
Duties:
- Provide legal advice and representation to clients on employment law matters, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, and employment contracts.
- Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare legal opinions and memoranda.
- Represent clients in administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC, NYSDOL, and NLRB, as well as in state and federal court litigation.
- Assist clients with internal investigations into allegations of workplace misconduct.
- Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Draft and review employment agreements, severance agreements, and other employment-related contracts.
- Train employers on best practices for compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Stay abreast of developments in employment law and proactively advise clients on potential impacts to their businesses.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
- 1-6 years of experience practicing employment law.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Experience representing clients in employment-related litigation and administrative proceedings.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Education and Certifications:
