Internship Summary:

- Opportunity to gain insight into City government, public finance, and the affordable housing industry
- Work on real estate closings for affordable housing projects
- Assist in documenting, negotiating, and closing new construction, preservation, and conversion loan financings
- Review contracts, leases, and other documents related to financings and HDC programs
- Research and prepare memoranda on affordable housing law and policy issues
- Perform general legal work as required

Responsibilities:

- Under the direction of a mentor attorney
- Assist in all aspects of real estate closings
- Review contracts, leases, and other documents
- Research and prepare memoranda on affordable housing law and policy issues
- Perform general legal work as required

Qualifications:

- Must have completed Real Property course
- Preferred experience or coursework in real estate, affordable housing, public finance, and/or New York City government
- Interest in public service and affordable housing
