A law firm is seeking a Senior Family Law Attorney I for its Grand Rapids, MI location.

Job Overview:

As the Senior Family Law Attorney, I will handle a diverse caseload of family law matters, including mediation, trial representation, legal research, and client counseling. The successful candidate will possess strong advocacy skills, significant trial experience, and a commitment to providing high-quality legal services to clients.

Duties:

  • Mediate family law disputes and represent clients in trials.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues.
  • Draft legal documents, including memorandums, briefs, and letters.
  • Market legal services to prospective clients.
  • Perform discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies of information.
  • Conduct due diligence in all legal matters.
  • Manage a schedule to meet production/collection objectives.
  • Ensure timely approval of invoices and maintain financial discipline.
  • Supervise and utilize support staff effectively.
  • Update the case management system with relevant information.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to serve community needs.
  • Engage in brand expansion through various channels, including social media and organization participation.
  • Seek positive feedback and reviews from clients.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong legal research skills.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the Bar in MI.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Family Law Attorney.
