A law firm is seeking a Tax Attorney for their office in Boston. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience addressing individual, partnership, and corporate tax aspects of complex commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, business formations, debt and equity financing, and employee compensation and benefits. Admission to the Massachusetts (MA) and New Hampshire (NH) Bar is required. The Tax Attorney will provide advice on the tax consequences, risks, and opportunities of ongoing and new business entity structures and activities, as well as address tax controversy matters. Experience with affordable housing tax credit issues, sales and use tax, and qualified plans would be advantageous.

 

Duties:

  • Provide advice on tax consequences, risks, and opportunities of ongoing and new business entity structures and activities
  • Address tax controversy matters
  • Handle individual, partnership, and corporate tax aspects of complex commercial transactions
  • Structure mergers and acquisitions, business formations, debt and equity financing
  • Advise on employee compensation and benefits
  • Draft related memoranda and documents
  • Work across a variety of industries

 

Requirements:

  • . from an ABA-accredited institution
  • Admission to the Massachusetts (MA) and New Hampshire (NH) Bar
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to solve multidimensional problems creatively

 

Education and Certifications:
