A law firm in Boston is seeking a Mid-Senior Level Patent Litigation Associate Attorney to provide strategic counsel and representation to clients in navigating patent disputes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in patent litigation, with a focus on drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, as well as preparing for trials and appeals.

 

Duties:

  • Work closely with clients to navigate patent laws and judicial decisions.
  • Provide solutions for overcoming competitors' patents and maximizing intellectual property value.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and correspondence for state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
  • Respond to complex discovery requests and prepare for depositions and trials.
  • Prepare exhibit lists, evidentiary objections, and motions in limine for trial preparation.
  • Supervise and train junior associates.
  • Prepare Federal Circuit appeal briefs.

 

Requirements:

  • 6-8 years of patent litigation experience.
  • Significant experience with drafting and responding to pleadings.
  • Experience in preparing infringement and invalidity claim charts.
  • Familiarity with Markman and claim construction proceedings.
  • Expertise in patent-specific fact and expert discovery.
  • Knowledge of inter partes reviews and overall litigation strategy.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Admission to the USPTO is required.
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
  • Substantial experience litigating matters in these or similar disciplines is highly desired.

 

Skills:

  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Superb judgment and communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing excellent client services.
  • Patent trial experience is a plus.
