A law firm is seeking a Pleading Review Associate Attorney for their Brentwood, TN office. The Pleading Review Associate Attorney will be responsible for reviewing complaints, letters, and other pleadings to determine their viability based on Federal and State regulations and client requirements. Additionally, they will ensure compliance with organizational protocols and may handle secondary responsibilities such as court appearances, file management, and collections negotiations.

 

Duties:

  • Review complaints, letters, and other pleadings to assess their grounds for proceeding according to Federal, State, and Client regulations
  • Ensure accuracy of pleadings, including venue, balances, named parties, statute of limitations, documentation, and theories of recovery
  • Conduct legal research to verify the accuracy and compliance of pleadings with relevant laws
  • Maintain effective communication with team members and clients
  • Handle secondary responsibilities such as court appearances, file management, and collections negotiations
  • Adhere to organizational goals, strategies, and values

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Tennessee
  • 1-2 years of experience in the Creditors' Rights or Collection fields preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong motivation with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer and word processing software, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

 

Skills:

  • Strong pleading and complaint experience with knowledge of collections-related court documents
  • Ability to quickly learn new technical programs
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
