Position Summary:

- Seeking a strategic and creative federal tax professional with experience in tax-exempt organizations for Deloitte's Business Tax Services Tax-Exempt practice.
- Responsibilities include providing tax compliance and consulting services to non-profit clients, managing tax engagement teams, and collaborating with specialists and firm leadership.
- Opportunity to work with a diverse range of non-profit industries and clients actively involved in philanthropic work.
- Position requires at least half (potentially 100%) of time to be spent serving non-profit clients.

What You'll Do:

- Build and maintain strong client relationships while providing tax consulting and compliance services.
- Advise clients on various tax issues including compliance, business restructuring, and philanthropic planning.
- Oversee tax compliance and consulting projects for a variety of entities and their affiliates.

The Team:

- Deloitte has a large national team of experienced professionals dedicated to serving non-profit organizations and donors.
- The team includes specialists in multi-state and international tax compliance, as well as transfer tax planning.
- Collaboration with colleagues from Consulting, Audit & Assurance, and Advisory on client projects is common.

Deloitte's Global Center for Excellence in Philanthropy ("GCEP"):

- Cross-functional team comprised of tax, audit, and consulting professionals.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to work within a hybrid work model, co-locating in person 2-3 days per week.
- 3+ years' experience in federal taxation with a focus on tax-exempt organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
- One of the following accreditations: CPA, licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on client and industry needs.

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Strong understanding of federal tax compliance, analysis, and research.
- Familiarity with mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring specific to tax-exempt organizations.
- Excellent research, writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Management experience and strong analytical skills.

Salary Information:

- Wage range for this role is $63,420 to $144,300, taking into account various factors such as experience, certifications, and location.
- Eligibility for discretionary annual incentive program based on individual and organizational performance.
