Tax Senior - Sustainability, Climate & Equity - Renewable Energy at Deloitte Tax LLP Experience: 3+ years Location: Multiple locations Salary range: $63,420 to $144,300 Position Summary: Deloitte Tax LLP's Business Tax Services (“BTS”) practice provides tax services to clients across more than 150 countries and regions worldwide. We are looking for a Tax Senior with a passion for renewable energy and sustainability to join our growing team. This role involves working with renewable energy clients and projects, such as wind, solar, battery storage, geothermal, biomass, and fuel cell projects. If you have relevant experience and are interested in making an impact in the renewable energy industry, Deloitte Tax LLP may be the place for you. What you'll do: - Advise clients on tax issues related to renewable energy projects - Collaborate with colleagues across all member firms – Tax, Advisory, Consulting, and Audit and Assurance - Identify opportunities and provide advice on potential benefits and eligibility requirements related to investment tax credits, production tax credits, carbon capture tax credits, and clean hydrogen tax credits - Prepare tax returns and provide advisory services related to modeling and structuring of renewable energy tax equity structures - Maintain and develop strong internal and client relationships - Monitor current and proposed tax legislation and regulations related to renewable energy and sustainability - Collaborate with member firms to execute work streams, such as valuation studies, tax equity modeling, and life cycle assessment studies - Identify potential issues and propose solutions to leadership - Ensure accurate and timely delivery of engagement deliverables - Monitor legislative and regulatory tax developments and present potential opportunities to assist clients - Provide support with various internal initiatives and special tax-related projects The Team: Deloitte Tax LLP has a dedicated team of tax professionals committed to supporting our clients with their Sustainability, Climate and Equity initiatives. The professionals in this team are based in various service lines and provide relevant services to multiple jurisdictions and countries. We assist clients with their global tax challenges and help them transform their tax department to create greater impact for their organization. Qualifications: Required: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, law, business administration, economics, or related field - 3+ years' experience in a related field - Ability to travel up to 25%, on average - Demonstrated analytical and research skills - Effective verbal and written communication skills - Proven leadership skills - Ability to collaborate and develop internal and external relationships - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel - Excellent research, writing, presentation, and communication skills - Active CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, CFA, or CFP - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Preferred: - Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM - Strong organizational and time management skills - Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment - Passion for leveraging technology and exploring new solutions - Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA or law firm Benefits: At Deloitte, we value our people and offer a broad range of benefits, including opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and a diverse and inclusive culture where individuals are encouraged to bring their unique perspectives and make a difference.
