A law firm is seeking a Worker's Compensation Attorney for their office in Mount Laurel, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a JD degree from an ABA-approved law school and maintain an active license in good standing in New Jersey. Preferably, the candidate will possess 1-3 years of meaningful New Jersey workers’ compensation insurance defense experience. The successful candidate will be proficient in time management, writing, and communication, and will demonstrate the ability to work effectively as a team member in a high-volume, fast-paced, and collegial work environment.

Job Overview:

The Worker's Compensation Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in workers' compensation cases. This includes evaluating new files, communicating with clients, producing discovery materials, conducting legal research, preparing legal memoranda, arguing motions and appeals, attending pretrial hearings and trial proceedings, and collaborating with colleagues.

Duties:

  • Evaluate new workers' compensation cases
  • Communicate with clients regarding case status and developments
  • Produce discovery materials
  • Conduct legal research on various areas of law related to workers' compensation
  • Prepare legal memoranda outlining research findings and legal arguments
  • Argue substantive, dispositive pre- and post-trial motions and appeals
  • Attend pretrial hearings, motions, and trials
  • Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy and execution

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an ABA-approved law school
  • Active license in good standing in New Jersey
  • 1-3 years of meaningful New Jersey workers’ compensation insurance defense experience preferred
  • Proficiency in time management, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member in a high-volume, fast-paced, and collegial work environment

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school
