ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Conducts research and collects information pertinent to legal matters, analyzes findings, prepares reports and makes appropriate recommendations. Drafts briefs, motions, pleadings and other legal instruments and court papers for courts of law. Responds to interrogatories, subpoenas and other similar legal instruments. Files pleadings, instruments and other documents with the Clerk of the Superior Court as required. Performs discovery work to secure evidence for trial and schedules witnesses. Summarizes depositions, interviews, interrogatories, and other case documents to assist attorneys with case handling. Interviews witnesses and clients at various sites to include office and county jail to obtain or clarify case preparation information and participates in attorney discussion of the case. Acts as liaison for attorney to the court, law enforcement agencies, various county and city departments, clients and the general public. SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS Performs special assignments as requested. Performs related work as required. Exercise regular and predictable attendance and punctuality in accordance with Mohave County Personnel Policies and Procedures.
Qualification and Experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Attorney Intern Receive admission to the Bar of the State of Arizona within twelve (12) months of hire date. Willingness to attain additional knowledge of legal, judicial and other job-related fields through reading of related information and materials and attending training and educational classes
