Job Title: Associate General Counsel, Litigation and Employment Law
- Opportunity for diverse legal responsibilities
- Reporting to General Counsel
- Working closely with staff at all levels of company
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Developing and implementing strategies with internal business leaders
- Engaging with external stakeholders to mitigate risk

Location:
- Preferably located at headquarters in Sparks, MD
- Consideration for regional offices in PA, DE, NC, SC, GA, or FL

Responsibilities:
- Manage, resolve, and avoid disputes, claims, and litigation
- Advise on employment matters and drafting/negotiating contracts
- Deescalate project disputes and prevent litigation through process improvements and trainings
- Manage internal procedures and processes related to legal matters
- Collaborate with all levels of staff and HR department
- Investigate and report on allegations of legal wrongdoing and breaches of company policy
- Provide guidance on employment law changes for multi-state employer
- Review and negotiate contracts with stakeholders and third parties

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from ABA accredited law school
- Member in good standing with any . state bar
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience
- Experience in litigation and/or employment law preferred
- Knowledge of AEC industry and risk mitigation strategies preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and maintain attention to detail
- Proficient in computer and software systems

Performance Expectations:
- Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
- Operate within budget parameters
- Meet with legal counsel regularly
- Report to General Counsel
- Visit tier one offices regularly
- Attend semi-annual managers meeting
