A law firm seeks a Business Immigration Attorney for their Houston office. The attorney will be responsible for diligently preparing cases, developing legal strategies, and managing various projects and deadlines. They must possess a passion for immigration law and excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and foreign nationals. Duties: • Diligently prepare cases, legal strategies, and cover letters. • Develop an expert-level understanding of client cases and prepare immigrant/non-immigrant petitions with in-depth knowledge of application processes and requirements. • Manage various projects and deadlines and prepare and revise documents. • Explain legal terminology to clients succinctly and timely. • Research unique legal issues by identifying applicable statutes and judicial decisions. • Stay up-to-date on legislative changes affecting immigration. • Develop solutions to complex legal questions. • Provide client companies and individuals with training on substantive legal topics and updates about new immigration laws and regulations. • Partner with colleagues to share information, resolve client issues, and support all client projects. • Regularly communicate effectively with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural and case strategy issues. • Assess eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status in the . • Work with global mobility personnel and the office of general counsel to prepare petitions and applications for submission to the Department of Labor (DOL) and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). • Supervise paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation to ensure accuracy. Requirements: • JD and current valid license to practice law in any . state. • 6 years of employment-based immigration experience. • Passion for immigration law and desire to work with clients on employment-based petitions. • Superb verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation. • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume law firm setting. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills. • Positive contribution to the work environment.
