A law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Defense Attorney for its Las Vegas, NV office. Reporting directly to a partner, the attorney will likely serve as the primary handling attorney on their own cases, depending on legal experience.

Job Overview:

• Serve as the primary handling attorney on assigned cases.
• Handle court appearances, discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, pre-trial preparation, and client updates.
• Prepare for and participate in trials.

Duties:

• Handle court appearances, including hearings and trials.
• Manage discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
• Conduct depositions of witnesses and experts.
• Draft and argue motions.
• Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Prepare clients for trial and represent them in court.
• Keep clients informed about case developments.

Requirements:

• Must be a licensed attorney in Nevada and California.
• Preferably barred in both Nevada and California.
• 1 year of experience in civil litigation defense preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications (if any):

• Bar admission in Nevada and California.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
• Strong advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
