A law firm in San Francisco is seeking a Mid-Level Class Action Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will possess superior writing, research, and analytical skills, with a preference for those who have previously practiced at an AmLaw 100 firm. Experience with class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation is highly desirable.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Assist in all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, reviewing documents, and preparing for depositions.
  • Participate in hearings, depositions, and trials as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product.
  • Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships within the firm and with external parties.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from a nationally recognized law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar (or ability to obtain admission promptly).
  • 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Experience with class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation is highly preferred.
  • Superior writing skills, with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage and take ownership of a multi-matter docket.
  • Previous federal clerkship is a plus.
