A law firm in Oakland is currently seeking an Associate Attorney - Generalist to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping K-12 schools and community colleges navigate a range of operational legal issues. Working alongside collegial and results-oriented practitioners, the attorney will handle cases in various practice areas, including Labor and Employment, Title IX and Investigations, Students and Special Education, and Higher Education. The candidate must possess excellent research, writing, and analytical skills and be a member of the State Bar of California.

 

Duties:

  • Assist K-12 schools and community colleges in navigating operational legal issues.
  • Work alongside collegial and results-oriented practitioners.
  • Handle cases in multiple practice areas, including Labor & Employment, Title IX and Investigations, Students and Special Education, and Higher Education.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft legal documents and correspondence.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide comprehensive legal solutions.

 

Requirements:

  • Member of the State Bar of California.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
