Job Overview: A law firm is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team in Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of criminal defense experience, proficiency in handling complex cases at the federal, state, and local levels, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. The Criminal Defense Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel, representing clients in court, and managing various aspects of criminal cases.

Job Duties:

  • Advise clients on their rights and draw up relevant legal documents about their cases.
  • Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients, providing counsel and advising on optimal legal strategies.
  • Manage court appearances, trials, and related activities, including drafting motions, conducting legal research, and interviewing witnesses.
  • Analyze probable case outcomes based on knowledge of legal precedents.

  • Provide legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits.
  • Accrue additional evidence to support clients' cases or counter prosecution charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions, strategize case goals, and gather information from witnesses and experts.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of Criminal Defense Experience.
  • Experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • A team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar.

Certifications:

  • State Bar admission.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to strategize and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • High-level interpersonal skills.
