We are currently seeking a State and Local Credits & Incentives Tax Senior to join our team and help our clients compete and succeed in the ever-changing tax landscape. As a State and Local Credits & Incentives Tax Senior, you will be responsible for conducting research and writing related to transferable tax credits on both the state and federal level. You will also participate in negotiations and transactions for transferable tax credits, as well as calculate federal disaster zone, employer paid leave, and other hiring-based tax credits. Additionally, you will be involved in negotiations for state and local incentives and conduct research and writing for location-based credits and incentives. Other responsibilities include completing necessary documentation for compliance purposes, participating in business development activities, and developing internal relationships within the firm. To qualify for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree (preferred in Accounting, Business, or a related field), with a Master's degree in Taxation and/or a JD with LLM in Tax being preferred. You should also have a minimum of 2 years of related tax experience, with public accounting experience being preferred. A CPA, bar membership, or equivalent credential is also preferred, or the ability to meet educational requirements to obtain a license upon hire in the state of employment. Previous experience with state or federal credits and incentives programs and performing tax research and providing technical advice on state and local tax issues is also preferred.
