Duties:

  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product.
  • Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, including working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.
  • Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience with drafting litigation documents, such as motions to dismiss, written discovery, and summary judgment motions in health care, ERISA, and commercial litigation matters.
  • State and federal court experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, drafting, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Immediately transferable skills and strong academic background from nationally recognized schools.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Admitted to practice law.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar in Texas (or ability to obtain admission promptly).
  • Additional certifications or specialized training in relevant areas of law are advantageous.
