A law firm is seeking a Patent Attorney for their Livonia, MI, location. The ideal candidate should have a background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or chemical engineering and 7-10 years of experience. The compensation will be based on a percentage of collections.

Job Overview:

• Play a pivotal role within the legal team, specializing in patent law.
• Collaborate closely with clients to safeguard their intellectual property rights through various legal avenues.

Duties:

• Conduct comprehensive patent searches and analyses to assess patentability and infringement concerns.
• Develop and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Offer legal guidance and counsel on patent-related issues to clients.
• Undertake patent litigation and enforcement proceedings as required.
• Engage effectively with inventors, engineers, and other stakeholders to comprehend and protect their innovations.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar in Michigan.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or chemical engineering.
• 7-10 years of hands-on experience practicing patent law.
• In-depth familiarity with patent laws, regulations, and procedural intricacies.

Certifications:

• Preferably admitted to the Patent Bar.

Skills:

• Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated prowess in analytical thinking and research methodologies.
• Ability to function effectively both autonomously and within a team framework.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work.
