Duties:

  • Handle aspects of litigation with minimal supervision, including interviewing witnesses, reviewing electronically stored documents, and drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, interact with clients and opposing counsel, and attend certain court appearances.
  • Provide advice and counsel on workplace law issues, including employee relations, risk mitigation, ADA and other workplace accommodations, FINRA arbitrations, employment agreements, reductions-in-force, and employment-related policies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with federal and state labor & employment laws and litigation.
  • Experience with laws such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and similar state laws.
  • Federal-level judicial clerkship experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Juris Doctorate degree required.
  • Admission to practice law in Illinois is mandatory.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in Illinois.

Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of federal and state labor & employment laws.
  • Litigation experience, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
