EY is hiring for a Manager position in their Federal Tax Advisory (FTA) practice. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the world's largest organizations, middle market and private companies. This role will focus on providing cutting edge solutions to clients and navigating the complex post-tax reform environment. Job Description:

As an FTA Manager, you will be responsible for identifying tax savings and refund opportunities for clients in areas such as FDII, BEAT, and GILTI planning, R&D credits, accounting methods, and more. You will also have the chance to work directly with clients, analyze data, and collaborate with subject matter professionals to develop effective tax strategies. In addition, you will play a role in mentoring and developing associates, as well as building relationships with clients.

Responsibilities:

- Facilitate delivery of effective tax solutions for clients
- Identify new business opportunities through critical thinking and independent analysis
- Assist in executing client engagements and providing timely and high-quality tax research
- Proactively manage projects and support the development of client relationships
- Learn and develop specific industry and sector knowledge
- Guide and mentor associates, providing performance feedback and ensuring developmental goals are met
- Stay current on trends and developments in the tax industry and apply them to client scenarios
- Utilize emerging technologies such as SharePoint, MS Power BI, MS Power Pivot, MS Power Query, and Alteryx

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, management information systems, or related field, and 6 years of related work experience OR a graduate degree in tax, law, or management information systems, and 5 years of related work experience
- Valid US Enrolled Agent, CPA, or licensed attorney designation
- Experience with tax research and analysis
- Proficiency in analyzing large datasets
- Ability to learn complex tax concepts and apply them to client situations
- Strong managerial, organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a team environment and supervising teams of EY and client personnel
- Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Access, and data mining tools
- Willingness to travel and work in a hybrid environment

Preferred Qualifications:

- Familiarity with IRS tax controversy and statistical sampling
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such as MS Power BI, MS Power Pivot, MS Power Query, and Alteryx
- Big 4 experience
- Certifications in Alteryx or Microsoft products (MSCA)
- Advanced degree such as MST, MSA, JD, or LLM
