Sr. Legal Counsel - Commercial Support for PayPal's Largest Deals PayPal is seeking a Sr. Legal Counsel to provide best in class commercial support for some of the company's largest merchant and partner deals. This role will involve drafting and negotiating highly complex multinational agreements and providing legal advice on cross border payment services. The successful candidate will have experience in technology, licensing, and payment/financial services, with strong writing skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: - Draft and negotiate complex multinational agreements for PayPal's largest deals - Coordinate cross-functionally within PayPal to craft deal strategies and provide innovative legal advice - Identify and address risk and regulatory issues in deals - Manage large deal closings and track the status of interrelated agreements and stakeholder requirements - Negotiate sales, marketing, and partner agreements with external parties - Work with various internal stakeholders such as sales, privacy, product, and regional counsel - Spot issues, find solutions, and make recommendations to implement change - Effectively navigate legal, compliance, and business needs Requirements: - Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree, with state bar membership - At least 8 years of experience in-house or at a law firm - At least 2 years of experience managing large deal closings - Experience negotiating complex sales, marketing, or partner agreements - Ability to work with multiple client-side stakeholders and effectively navigate legal, compliance, and business needs - Exceptional attention to detail and ability to generate creative legal documents - Hands-on experience in financial services, fintech, or technology companies - Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills - Experience in the payments industry - Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment Compensation: - Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as work location, relevant skills, and experience - Total compensation may include an annual performance bonus, equity, and medical, dental, and vision benefits - . national annual pay range for this role is $99,300 to $216,040 Benefits: - Flexible work environment - Employee shares options - Health and life insurance - And more, visit for more information About PayPal: PayPal's mission is to revolutionize commerce globally and empower individuals to participate fully in the global economy.
