Job Title: Tax Manager - Real Estate Tax (Central Region Office Locations)
Experience: 5+ years total corporate or international tax experience
Salary Range: $84,980 to $169,650
Location: 28 locations in the Central Region

Position Summary:

- Seeking a strategic and creative federal tax professional with experience in serving real estate owners and operators
- Looking for a leader with a solid understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and Real Estate Investment Trust qualification rules
- Opportunity to develop and pursue creative strategies using the latest tax technologies in the real estate industry
- Recruiting for this role ends on June 1, 2025

What You'll Do:

- Provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the Real Estate industry sector
- Work directly with clients, manage tax engagement team, have access to specialists, and use state of the art technology
- Responsibilities include assisting clients with life events for partnerships, using proprietary technologies, maintaining and developing client relationships, advising on a variety of tax issues, overseeing complex tax projects, and mentoring and developing junior staff

The Team:

- Deloitte works with clients in the Real Estate industry to address critical issues brought on by regulatory changes, competition, globalization, technology advancements, and changing customer demands
- Clients include investment advisers and administrators from every sector of the industry
- Business tax services range from tax planning to compliance, controversy and risk management, and specialized services
- Join a team focused on optimizing tax functions and taking strategy to the next level

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to work in a hybrid work model, co-locating in person 2-3 days per week
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on client work and industry/sector served
- 5+ years of corporate or international tax experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Licensed CPA, attorney, enrolled agent, or certifications such as CFA or CFP

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
- Previous experience with Big 4 or large CPA firm
- Experience with US clients and understanding of US tax
- Demonstrated effective communication and research skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage a team
- Solid understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills
- Management experience

Salary Range and Benefits:

- Wide range of factors considered in compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and business needs
- Estimate for this role is $84,980 to $169,650
- Eligible for discretionary annual incentive program
- Comprehensive benefits package available
