BDO, a leading global accounting and advisory firm, is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Tax Managing Director for our Private Client Services practice. This individual will be responsible for providing tax compliance and consulting services to our high net-worth clients, and will be a critical member of the office/region leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leads tax and consulting engagements, providing guidance and mentorship to team members
- Acts as the primary client contact for presenting and resolving tax issues
- Reviews complex tax returns and provides feedback to preparers
- Communicates with government agencies on complex matters
- Identifies technical issues, conducts tax research, and provides recommendations to clients and advisors
- Expands knowledge through client engagements and staying current with tax developments
- Prioritizes and reviews work to keep engagements on track
- Utilizes strong analytical, research, and decision-making skills to assist clients with tax and financial decisions
- Contributes to the firm through billing, recruitment, and participation in professional development activities
- Builds and maintains relationships with BDO professionals and external sources

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics required; Master's degree in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
- 10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or law required
- Expertise in private client services required
- Prior supervisory experience required; experience in public accounting preferred
- CPA, EA, or Attorney credential required; other professional degrees or certifications preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and tax compliance process software; experience with tax research tools preferred

- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrates leadership skills and actively contributes to practice matters
- Develops in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues for high net-worth individuals and families

- Supervises, develops, and trains employees
- Actively participates in performance feedback and career development for team members

Salary Information:

Individual salaries offered are based on various factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and location. The following ranges are provided for reference:

- California: $200,000 - $325,000
- New York City/Valhalla: $200,000 - $245,000
- Washington: $115,000 - $300,000
