Job Title: Tax Manager - Investment Management/Private Equity (East Region City Locations)
Experience: 5+ years providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns, 3+ years with investment management or partnership taxation
Salary: Estimated range of $84,980 to $193,440, with potential for additional discretionary annual incentive program

Position Summary:

- Seeking a Tax Manager to join the largest growth area in the tax industry and work with investment management clients
- Utilize prior experience to provide tax compliance and advisory services
- Manage client relationships and deliver tax advisory services
- Lead and mentor teams, advise on tax and business issues, and assist with analysis, solution development, and implementation of tax objectives

Responsibilities:

- Perform high-level reviews of tax research, partnership work papers, allocations, and tax filings
- Lead client meetings on compliance and advisory projects related to tax planning opportunities and transactions
- Train, mentor, and supervise new and experienced Tax Consultants and Tax Seniors
- Take on lead client-contact roles
- Conduct billing and profitability analysis on engagements
- Participate in marketplace eminence building and pursuits

The Team:

- Global leader in providing professional services to the Investment Management industry
- Comprised of over 1,400 partners, principals, and employees
- Provides a spectrum of tax services to a broad range of Investment Management companies
- Clients include hedge funds, private equity, investment partnerships, alternative products, family offices, mutual funds, broker-dealers, banks, insurance companies, and other investment managers

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires co-location in person 2-3 days per week
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related field
- 5+ years’ experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns
- 3+ years’ experience with investment management or partnership taxation
- Experience managing projects including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing
- Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Active accreditation as a Licensed CPA, Attorney, Enrolled Agent, Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA), or Certified Financial Planner (CFP)

Preferred:

- Previous Big 4 experience or large CPA firm equivalent
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting
