A law firm based in Short Hills is seeking a Mid-Level Class Action Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate should possess superior writing, research, and analytical skills, and have the ability to navigate and take ownership of a multi-matter docket. Experience with class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation is highly preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product.
  • Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required.
  • Foster positive work relationships.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing; participating in digital/virtual conference calls; participating in meetings as needed.
  • Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably gained while practicing at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Strong academic background from nationally recognized schools.
  • Previous federal clerkship is a plus.
  • Experience with class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation is highly preferred.
  • Superior writing skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a multi-matter docket.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
