Summary:

BDO is seeking a Core Tax Services Senior Associate to join their team in Boston, MA. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base and gain experience in tax compliance, research, ASC 740-10, tax consulting, and strategy development. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics and 2+ years of relevant tax experience. CPA certification, Attorney or EA designation is preferred. This role also involves supervising and managing the work of Core Tax Services Associates, providing performance feedback, and acting as a mentor. Job Duties:

•Tax Compliance: Ensures compliance with all applicable authorities and minimizes tax and reporting burdens for clients and the firm. Manages projects, answers preparer questions, conducts detailed reviews, and identifies book-to-tax differences.

•Research: Identifies when research is needed, frames issues to be researched, and reports analysis in accordance with professional standards.

•ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) Tax Accruals: Applies Firm policies and standards regarding FAS 109 and FIN 48. Prepares workpapers, discusses with team members, and reviews and prepares footnote disclosures.

•Tax Consulting: Assists with developing and implementing methods to decrease taxes and provides support for client consulting projects. Identifies consulting opportunities and gathers relevant information for controversy work.

•Strategy Development: Introduces new ideas to improve client and firm positions, and prepares studies of tax implications and alternative courses of action.

•Other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

•May supervise and manage the work of Core Tax Services Associates.
•Provides feedback and acts as a mentor to Core Tax Services Associates.

Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics required OR Bachelor's degree in other focus area and CPA certification required.
•2+ years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience preferred.
•Industry expertise in one or more tax specialty preferred.
•CPA certification, Attorney or EA designation preferred.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and tax research databases and software preferred.
•Strong communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
•Ability to work well in a team environment.

Salary Information (subject to eligibility requirements):

•California Range: $84,000 - $107,500
•Colorado Range: $70,000 - $82,500
•New York City/ Valhalla Range: $80,000 - $105,000
•Washington Range: $76,000 - $105,000
