Position Summary:
- Seeking a leader with a passion for financial products and tax planning
- Responsible for identifying complex tax issues for hedge fund clients
- Must have a solid understanding of Subchapter K, wash sale and constructive sale rules, and aggregate allocations
- Will also be responsible for trader vs. investor determination and federal, international, and state investor reporting
- Detail-level review of tax workpapers, allocations, and tax returns
- Conduct research to advise on transactional and tax planning opportunities with support from Washington National Tax group
- Build relationships with client contacts and gather information
- Train, mentor, and supervise new and experienced-level staff

- Deloitte Tax LLP works with clients in the Investment Management industry
- Global leaders in providing professional services
- Over 1,400 partners, principals, and employees providing tax services to a broad range of investment management companies
- Clients include investment advisers and administrators from every sector of the industry

Qualifications:
Required:
- Ability to work in a hybrid model, co-locating in person 2-3 days per week
- 3+ years of experience in tax planning or preparing and reviewing tax workpapers and returns
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field
- Licensed CPA or eligible to sit for the CPA exam, or licensed attorney or enrolled agent
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on work and clients served

Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
- Previous experience at a Big 4 firm
- Basic understanding of Subchapter K, financial products, and wash sale and constructive sale rules
- Experience in a fast-paced, team environment
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting
