Maryland Legal Aid (MLA) is seeking a law student to join their Summer Law Clerk Program for the year 2024. This full-time position will provide exposure to the challenges and opportunities of providing civil legal services to those most in need. Under the supervision of a licensed attorney, the law clerk will learn about basic policies and procedures of legal practice, office administration, and non-profit management.

Salary Information:

- Salary range of $17-19 per hour
- Applicants may receive credit for service completed through their school program

Qualifications:

- Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment with a diverse client base

- Ability to work within an office environment and have regular interaction via in-person, tele and concludes on July 26, 2024
- Maximum of 35 hours per week for ten weeks during the summer

- Practice and apply basic interviewing techniques to conduct client intakes

- File and mail relevant documents
- Assist with special research or other projects as assigned
- Other tasks as assigned
