Job Description:

As the Trade Compliance Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that TechnipFMC maintains the highest ethical standards while supporting innovation and success across the company. You will provide legal advice on global trade compliance, with a focus on sanctions and export controls. This position offers opportunities to work with teams globally and to help develop and maintain a best-in-class Trade Compliance program. With significant growth and leadership potential, this role is perfect for someone with a background in Trade Compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and address Trade Compliance matters involving global sanctions requirements, export controls, customs and import requirements, and anti-boycott issues
- Partner with business units globally to conduct due diligence reviews and ensure EU, UK, Norway, and other sanctions and export controls requirements are met
- Conduct due diligence on new business partners to confirm compliance with targeted sanctions
- Coordinate with external legal counsel as needed to ensure compliance with global trade laws
- Provide trainings to Business Development and Project teams on due diligence processes, targeted sanctions, and export controls requirements
- Work with Product Classification and Licensing team to coordinate export control reviews and licensing requirements
- Recommend and implement updates to internal Trade Compliance policies, processes, and guidance materials for the business globally

Requirements:

- European, UK, Norwegian law degree, or equivalent legal degree from other relevant country
- 8+ years of legal experience in global trade compliance, with specific experience in sanctions and export controls preferred
- 2+ years of in-house work experience in Legal, Compliance, Logistics or other relevant departments preferred
- Knowledge of global sanctions and export controls involving Russia, China, and other targeted entities and countries
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate effective management skills, leadership, and motivation
- Exceptional planning, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, project, and presentation software

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

- Hybrid schedule (in-office/remote work) based on office location
- Some international travel may be required
- Frequent sitting and operating a computer
- Fast-paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant change
