The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bodily injury defense, construction, and other insurance defense matters, with a minimum of 7+ years of experience. Duties:

  • Handle insurance defense matters, focusing on bodily injury defense, construction, and related areas.
  • Manage civil cases through trial, including conducting depositions, attending oral arguments and hearings, negotiating settlements, and providing regular updates to clients.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and other filings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders to advocate for the firm's clients and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of developments in insurance law and relevant practice areas to inform case strategy and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to efficiently and effectively manage caseloads and meet deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • An active license to practice law in Texas and additional licensure in other states is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience practicing law, focusing on insurance defense.
  • Strong litigation skills, including experience taking depositions, conducting oral arguments, and trying cases in court.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client service.
  • Prior experience in insurance defense is preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • An active license to practice law in Texas and additional licensure in other states is a plus.
