A law firm located in Detroit, is seeking a dedicated Appellate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in appellate law, possess exceptional legal research and brief writing skills, and exhibit strong communication abilities. This position also requires the candidate to have a Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-approved law school and be a member in good standing and active in the State Bar or have the ability to become licensed. Experience with law review and high academic achievement is highly desirable, and the candidate should be comfortable with learning new computer software while collaborating effectively in a team environment. Duties: • Conduct legal research and analysis to support appellate cases. • Prepare persuasive legal briefs and arguments for appellate court proceedings. • Collaborate with other attorneys and clients to develop case strategies and assess potential outcomes. • Maintain a strong grasp of changing legal precedents and provide insights on their impact on cases. • Attend court hearings and proceedings as needed to represent clients effectively. Requirements: • 3 years of experience as an appellate attorney. • Previous appellate clerkship experience is highly desirable. • Exceptional research, legal brief writing, and communication skills. • Proficiency in learning and using new computer software for legal research and case management. • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-approved law school. • Membership in good standing and active in the State Bar.
