A law firm is seeking an OSHA Of Counsel for their Long Island office. The candidate will provide guidance and support to clients on workplace safety and health compliance requirements, focusing on OSHA regulations.
Job Overview:
The OSHA Of Counsel will support clients in navigating workplace safety and health compliance requirements, with a focus on OSHA regulations. They will also manage support on other Labor and Employment matters as needed.
Duties:
- Support, collaborate, and guide clients on workplace safety and health compliance requirements, including OSHA regulations.
- Manage outside counsel and vendors on global Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) issues and develop programmatic opportunities to address risk.
- Develop relationships with regulatory agencies, defend practices within appropriate boundaries, and influence policy development.
- Handle all aspects of litigation related to workplace safety and discrimination matters per OSHA regulations.
- Represent clients in informal conferences, settlement negotiations, and defensive litigation of citations.
- Provide crisis management to clients dealing with workplace safety and health matters.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA accredited law school, with exceptional academic credentials.
- Class action or public sector experience is a plus.
- New York Bar Admission with "active" status required.
- 8+ years of employment litigation experience preferred; OSHA experience required.
- Supervisory experience is necessary.
- First and/or second chair trial experience.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative, team environment.
