A law firm is seeking an Innovation Attorney - E & I and Finance for its Portland location. The candidate will support the firm's innovation efforts to enhance the delivery of legal services, with a focus on the E&I and Finance business units. Reporting to the Global Head of Practice Innovation, the role involves collaborating closely with all members and leadership of the aforementioned units to develop and implement innovative strategies.

 

Duties:

  • Develop and enhance the use of practice content to streamline legal service delivery, including creating and automating precedent libraries, maintaining deal documents, and integrating relevant third-party resources.
  • Lead projects to develop client-facing solutions, improve client/deal intake processes, and leverage deal and experience data to enhance future transactions.
  • Support the firm's data strategy, including tracking deal data, monitoring usage of practice content, and spearheading digitalization projects.
  • Oversee and support the onboarding and adoption of legal technology within the business units, including AI integration and workflow automation.
  • Regularly evaluate the efficient delivery of legal services through internal data analysis, external benchmarking, and market trend monitoring.
  • Educate legal professionals on practice content, client-facing solutions, firm resources, and technology initiatives to improve legal services.
  • Communicate and consult with administrators, lawyers, paralegals, and staff on various initiatives and projects.
  • Develop and maintain case studies for marketing and business development purposes.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (.) from an accredited university or college and admission to practice in good standing in a US jurisdiction.
  • 4+ years of experience as an E&I attorney in a large law firm.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas in layman’s terms.
  • Familiarity with workflow, document, and communication management best practices and technology.
  • Understanding of knowledge management, practice/project management, and efficiency in achieving business goals.
  • Enthusiasm for legal technology, including AI and generative AI applications.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, public relations, and diplomacy skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (.) from an accredited university or college.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice in good standing in a US jurisdiction.

 

Skills:
