A law firm located in San Francisco is seeking a Healthcare Associate Attorney with a strong interest in technology's role in healthcare and a passion for utilizing technology to influence the future of healthcare. The successful candidate will exclusively work in digital health, representing startups and founder-led companies at all stages, from pre-formation to capital markets.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support to digital health startups and founder-led companies.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance issues related to healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of corporate structures and governance for healthcare technology companies.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to digital health ventures.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on emerging healthcare technology trends and regulatory developments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, regulatory, and business development teams, to address legal issues and support business objectives.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, transactions, and dispute resolution processes.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law.
  • 3-7 years of experience in healthcare law, with a focus on regulatory compliance and advising on the corporate practice of medicine.
  • Demonstrated interest in technology's role in healthcare and a commitment to leveraging technology to shape the future of the industry.
  • Experience working with digital health startups or founder-led companies preferred.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and state healthcare regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law.

 

Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, particularly in the digital health sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
