Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a large portfolio of Contested Foreclosure Cases.
- Develop strategy with contested specialists, foreclosure counsel and Clients to resolve contested foreclosure matters.
- Manage team of direct reports and provide regular performance feedback.
- Handle escalated Title Curative and lien priority claims.
- Notify SVP of high-risk matters upon intake.
- Understand mortgage loan servicing and default, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and loss mitigation processes.
- Review LPS queues and transfer cases to Legal (Contested) Department.
- Manage initial case intake and set up.
- Ensure timely investor reports and facilitate meaningful discussions on investor calls.
- Responsible for management of cases from inception to conclusion.
- Analyze industry case decisions and their impact on Selene operations and clients.
- Schedule trainings for the team.
- Work with various departments and external resources to resolve contested foreclosure matters.
- Respond to discovery requests and motions.
- Conduct factual research and analysis of loan issues.
- Manage case dockets, deadlines, and pleadings.
- Participate in conference calls with investors and internal management.
- Participate in settlement negotiations to minimize company risk and investor losses.
- Provide coaching, training, and development to staff.
- Recognize and recommend operational improvements.
- Develop and maintain department policies and procedures.
- Measure and document staff performance, attendance, and compliance.
- Escalate issues to Management when necessary.

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
- Ability to manage a large docket of cases.
- Foreclosure law firm or prior consumer finance in-house foreclosure experience preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Ability to use good judgment.
- Knowledge of foreclosure laws.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle competing priorities.
