A law firm in Detroit, MI, is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney with exceptional communication, persuasive writing, and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in Commercial Litigation and possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. The candidate must be licensed to practice law in Michigan and demonstrate proficiency in drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, participating in settlement negotiations, and making court appearances as necessary.

 

Duties:

  • Assist with drafting legal documents, including motions, pleadings, briefs, and other litigation-related documents for Commercial Litigation cases.
  • Administer depositions of witnesses and parties involved in the litigation process, and summarize deposition testimony accurately.
  • Issue interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and other discovery requests, and review documents as part of the discovery process in Commercial Litigation cases.
  • Participate actively in settlement negotiations, advocating for clients' interests effectively and achieving favorable outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough legal research on Commercial Litigation issues, statutes, regulations, and case law to support litigation strategies.
  • Make court appearances as necessary, representing clients' interests in hearings, motions, and other proceedings.
  • Communicate complex legal concepts and information clearly and persuasively to stakeholders with varying levels of expertise.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to develop effective case strategies and solutions for Commercial Litigation matters.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation related to Commercial Litigation cases.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • License to practice law in Michigan.
  • 3-4 years of experience in Commercial Litigation.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong persuasive writing skills.
  • Impeccable written and spoken language skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with the discovery process, including administering depositions and issuing interrogatories.
  • Experience participating in settlement negotiations.
  • Proficiency in conducting legal research and analyzing statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Willingness to make court appearances and represent clients effectively in hearings and proceedings.

 

Education and Certifications:
