A law firm is seeking a Wage and Hour Associate Attorney for its New York City office. The candidate will be responsible for litigating cases involving a wide array of employment-related claims, focusing on Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), New York Labor Law, and other state wage and hour laws. They will represent employers in various legal settings, provide counsel on compliance with wage and hour laws, and manage related risk. Experience with class/collective actions is highly desirable.

 

Duties:

  • Litigate cases involving employment-related claims under FLSA, New York Labor Law, and state wage and hour laws.
  • Represent employers in court, administrative agencies, mediations, and arbitrations, particularly in wage claim and hour cases.
  • Advise employers on wage and hour law compliance and risk management, including implementing dispute resolution programs.
  • Handle class/collective action cases, if applicable.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Current admission to the New York Bar or ability to obtain admission.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork, with the ability to work independently on various projects.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Current admission to the New York Bar or ability to obtain admission.

 

Skills:
