A law firm is seeking a Litigation Of Counsel for their Chicago, IL office.

Job Overview:

The Litigation Of Counsel will be pivotal in communicating with clients, supervising associates, working with experts, assisting with fact development and depositions, and drafting legal documents. They will contribute to developing case strategies and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality work products.

Duties:

  • Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Supervise associates and guide as needed.
  • Work with experts and assist in fact development and depositions.
  • Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Assist in the development of case strategy.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence promptly.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in physical and sedentary activities as required, including working at a computer for extended periods, participating in virtual conferences, and attending meetings.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Experience in product liability and/or complex commercial litigation.
  • A science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology) is preferred.
  • Superior research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
