Job Title: Director, Products and Services Counsel
Experience: Minimum 15 years providing legal support to technology businesses at both a law firm and corporate legal department
Salary Information:
- Base pay range for SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area: $248,000 - $341,000 per year
- Base pay range for California (excluding SF Bay Area), Washington (excluding Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts: $223,200 - $306,900 per year
- Base pay range for all other cities and states (excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area, and Washington DC Metro Area): $198,400 - $272,800 per year

Director, Products and Services Counsel role at Splunk:
- Responsible for providing legal support to various solutions groups and business teams
- Work closely with key internal business and technology partners on strategic and day-to-day legal matters related to Splunk offerings
- Support the development and release of new solutions and channels, ensure production readiness, and address customer requirements
- Report to Director, Products and Marketing (Legal)

Responsibilities:
- Support product development, readiness, and releases by reviewing product release checklists for legal issues
- Build trusted advisor relationships with senior managers
- Engage with product team members, including product managers, field strategists, software engineers, data scientists, technical writers, and marketing managers
- Support M&A activities, including diligence and integration
- Review, draft, and negotiate technology agreements
- Perform due diligence to ensure compliance with third-party agreements, open source licenses, security attestations, and government regulations and certifications
- Develop positive relationships with cross-functional partners across Splunk to effectively deliver on complex tasks
- Assist with other responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:
- JD degree from ABA accredited university and member in good standing of the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction
- Minimum of 15 years of experience providing legal support to technology businesses at both a well-regarded law firm and corporate legal department
- At least 6 years in the software/SaaS industry with strong understanding of cloud service offerings
- Understanding of Big Data (including ML/AI) preferred
- Expertise in intellectual property, open source issues, data privacy, and information and product security
- Deep experience and knowledge in reviewing technology license agreements and negotiating difficult transactions
- Experience working with software developers and product managers to guide compliance and resolve complicated issues in creative and effective ways
