A law firm in Canandaigua, NY, is seeking an Attorney with 1+ years of experience to provide direct legal representation primarily in Matrimonial and Family Court matters. The candidate will manage individual caseloads, including divorce, custody, visitation, child support, family offense proceedings, adoptions, and guardianships.

 

Duties:

  • Meet with clients and manage individual caseloads, including initial consultations.
  • Draft and file the appropriate paperwork with various courts.
  • Utilize knowledge of NYS Courts Electronic Filing (NYSCEF) – E-Courts, if available.
  • Handle Family Court hearings and Matrimonial trials.
  • Work with great independence and autonomy.
  • Utilize Google, Microsoft OneDrive, Word, and Excel effectively.
  • Utilize CLIO client management and billing software, if experienced.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to New York State Bar.
  • 1+ years of experience in Family Law or related field.
  • Previous knowledge of NYSCEF is desired.
  • Experience with CLIO client management and billing software is desired.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
