I also understand that I may be terminated from my internship at any time, with or without notice, for any reason or no reason. I understand that my internship is unpaid and that I am not an employee of the Office of the Attorney General. I understand that I am not entitled to workers’ compensation benefits from the Office of the Attorney General. I also understand that I am not covered by any other state employee benefit plans, including, but not limited to, health insurance, leave accrual, holiday pay, retirement, and unemployment compensation. I understand that I am not entitled to any overtime pay from the Office of the Attorney General. I also understand that I am not entitled to any other benefits, including, but not limited to, sick leave, vacation leave, or personal leave. Florida Attorney General's Organization Internship Program Application Deadlines: Fall: June 30 Organizationwide Prosecution (J,L,M,My,O,Ta,W) Organizationwide Prosecution: The Office of Organizationwide Prosecution prosecutes specific crimes that impact two or more judicial circuits in the State. Working regularly with state and federal counterparts, the office focuses on complex, often large scale, organized criminal activity. The Office is authorized to act throughout Florida and works closely with law enforcement and State Attorneys to coordinate the prosecutions of multi-circuit violations of State law. The Attorney General serves as the attorney for the State of Florida and as a member of the Florida Cabinet (For more information about the Attorney General visit the Role and Function of the Attorney General). Interning for the Office of the Attorney General affords law students an opportunity to gain practical experience in a legal field and offers students a chance to perform meaningful work toward the completion of their degree. Internships available consist primarily of law student interns. The Office of the Attorney General Law Student Internship Program is open to interested students enrolled in an accredited ABA law school. The program offers unpaid internships for academic credit and through participation in law school sponsored programs. All law students seeking academic credit during the fall, spring, or summer term should apply for an unpaid internship. In addition, law students who are not receiving academic credit are welcome to seek internship opportunities as a participant in law school sponsored programs such as Pro Bono Programs, Law School sponsored clinics, Law School Paid Stipend programs, etc. Documentation must be provided. Students must be able to intern a minimum of 20 hours per week, or for a period as prescribed by the college or school. The number and locations of internships opportunities available each term is based on agency need and opportunity; a summary page with a brief description of each unit has been added to the last page of the intern application to assist you in your selection. Interested students are directed to complete and submit the appropriate application packet prior to the deadline
