Job Overview: A law firm in New York City is seeking a Discovery Attorney to manage all stages of discovery projects, provide guidance on discovery processes, and assist in responding to discovery requests. The ideal candidate will have a . from an ABA-accredited law school, be a member of the New York Bar, and possess prior experience in litigation practice.

Job Duties:

  • Review documents for responsiveness and privilege in response to discovery requests.
  • Manage all stages of a discovery project, including document preservation, collection, review, preparation for depositions/interviews, productions, privilege logs, and post-production document use.
  • Provide guidance and advice on discovery processes in matters.
  • Assist in drafting ESI protocols, protective orders, and review protocols.
  • Conduct research into the relevant industry for document requests.
  • Assist in developing plans and procedures for document collection, review, and production.
  • Work with and train paralegals, project attorneys, and contract attorneys as necessary.
  • Manage discovery vendors and collaborate with clients' discovery attorneys and IT personnel.
  • Collaborate with the US Litigation Technology Group and stay informed about discovery technology, including review platforms and AI/TAR tools.
  • Coordinate with global discovery groups in New York, Washington ., Brussels, and London.
  • Assist in other matters unrelated to discovery as needed.

Requirements:

  • . from an ABA-accredited law school and membership in the New York Bar.
  • Prior experience in litigation practice, particularly complex, multi-party litigation, is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work extensive overtime, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, project management skills, technical skills, diplomacy, and client services.
  • Ability to manage teams and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect data, establish facts, draw defensible conclusions, define problems, and propose solutions.
  • Experience working with discovery vendors.
  • Extensive knowledge of Relativity, Concordance, and other common discovery-related tools.
