A law firm in Philadelphia is seeking a Patent Agent with expertise in Chemistry to join its Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group, specifically the Patent Development and Strategy Subgroup. The ideal candidate must have experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications, particularly in chemical technologies. Additionally, the candidate should be capable of handling broader technologies in mechanical and light electrical engineering. Litigation, opinions, licensing, patent due diligence, and/or trademark experience are preferred. A degree in chemical engineering or chemistry is required, along with registration with the USPTO. Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications in the field of chemistry and related technologies
  • Conduct patentability searches and analyses

  • Assist with patent litigation, opinions, licensing, and due diligence projects
  • Manage patent dockets and deadlines effectively

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications
  • Experience in chemical technologies, with the ability to handle mechanical and light electrical engineering technologies
  • Litigation, opinions, licensing, patent due diligence, and/or trademark experience is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or chemistry
  • Registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
