Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Prepare various legal documents, including motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Take responsibility for administrative tasks related to client invoicing, scheduling meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Utilize advanced computer skills to work with legal research programs, such as Westlaw and Lexis.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate (.) degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years of related legal experience, preferably in criminal defense.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a heavy caseload with limited supervision.
  • Strong public speaking, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a law firm environment.
  • Active Bar membership in good standing with no pending or prior disciplinary history.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with clients and the team.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and a passion for serving criminal defense clients.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in an all-Mac environment.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities and good organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
