A law firm is seeking an eDiscovery Attorney for its Chicago office. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties related to electronic discovery processes.

Job Overview:

The eDiscovery Attorney will be instrumental in advising case teams and clients on discovery processes, leveraging advanced technologies, and ensuring compliance with legal obligations. They will also provide training, manage document collections, and oversee document reviews.

Duties:

  • Promote firm’s resources and capabilities to attorneys and staff through training and relationship cultivation.
  • Provide recommendations on discovery process improvements and technology utilization for cost and risk reduction.
  • Offer training on RelativityOne and best practices.
  • Advise on document preservation and collection strategies, drafting Litigation Hold Notices as needed.
  • Conduct scoping interviews for document collection with clients.
  • Interface with vendors and client IT departments to facilitate collections.
  • Collaborate with Discovery Analysts on data collection and processing into Relativity.
  • Develop strategies for culling data in accordance with best practices.
  • Craft, revise, and test search terms for data culling and review.
  • Advise on efficient and effective document reviews.
  • Set up and implement QC searches and protocols.
  • Train and supervise contract attorney review teams.
  • Advise on document production options and best practices.
  • Collaborate on production specifications with Discovery Analysts.
  • Quality control of document productions.
  • Stay updated on case law, local rules, and eDiscovery best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctorate required.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a dedicated eDiscovery Attorney.
  • Knowledge of eDiscovery Best Practices, Sedona Conference, EDRM, and case law.
  • Proficiency with RelativityOne.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Active law license.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Juris Doctorate.
  • Active law license.
