Fair Housing Staff Attorney
The candidate will serve as a complaint analyst for the fair housing program. Responsible for fair housing complaint intake and screening, complaint analysis and referral, and client advocacy for the administrative and judicial enforcement of fair housing laws. Also have responsibility for statewide fair housing hotline call response, technical assistance to attorneys and housing professionals regarding fair housing laws, community outreach and education concerning the availability of fair housing enforcement and testing, and detailed recordkeeping. Must be admitted to practice law in Alaska or admitted to practice in another state and be eligible for an Alaska Bar Rule 43 waiver. Should ideally have a demonstrated commitment to serving low-income individuals and the ability to gain clients' trust. A background working in cross-cultural situations is highly desired.
