A law firm based in Austin, TX is currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Associate Attorney to join its legal team. The Associate Attorney will play a key role in the firm's litigation activities, working closely with staff to review legal documents, attend court appearances, and manage a large caseload. The successful candidate will provide thorough and responsive legal research, communicate effectively with clients and taxpayers, and participate in marketing and networking activities.

 

Duties:

  • Review legal documents such as pleadings, notices, and judgments.
  • Prepare for and attend court appearances.
  • Draft discovery requests and responses.
  • Calendar and monitor all deadlines on cases.
  • Research and analyze legal issues.
  • Advise clients on tax matters.
  • Communicate with taxpayers and attorneys.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Participate in marketing and networking activities.
  • Attend occasional evening and weekend events, including statewide conferences.
  • Draft memoranda for the firm and for clients.
  • Manage a large caseload.
  • Identify and analyze complex issues.
  • Provide research that is thorough and responsive to the issue at hand.
  • Write in an organized, clear, and concise manner.
  • Work in a supervisory position.
  • Ability to keep track of billable hours.

 

Requirements:

  • 0-10 years of litigation experience.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas.
  • Good communication skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active license to practice law in the State of Texas.
