The VP - Legal Counsel (Banking & Lending) role at Citi Global Wealth Legal department is a hybrid position that offers a unique opportunity to provide broad-based advice on various issues and projects related to the margin and securities-backed lending product. This position will play a vital role in the North America and Latin America Lending business of Citi Global Wealth, primarily focusing on transactions booked out of Citibank, . in New York. The role will involve a wide range of transactional work in lending to individuals and various entity types across Lending, as well as focused business-critical initiatives.

The VP - Legal Counsel will report directly to the Legal Senior Group Manager for CGW Banking & Lending in the Americas and will collaborate closely with the Business and key areas across Citigroup, including other Legal areas, Compliance/ICRM, and Risk. The role requires regular interaction with external counsel and other functional colleagues to ensure coordination on legal and regulatory practices and procedures.

Key responsibilities of the VP - Legal Counsel role include supporting the Lending business by drafting and overseeing credit documentation, assisting in the preparation of legal opinions, and overseeing transactions documented by external counsel. The role also involves providing general support to business projects, instructing and managing external counsel, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 5 years of relevant financial services and lending experience, knowledge of international laws and regulations, and demonstrated ability to analyze issues and develop legal solutions. Effective communication and negotiation skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills, are also required. The candidate should also hold a Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree and be a member of the Bar in good standing.

This full-time position is based in Tampa, Florida, and the salary range is $140, - $210,.
