A law firm in Columbia is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 10+ years of experience and robust renewables experience to complement the Firm’s current energy practice. The ideal candidate will counsel clients on various renewables projects, with a focus on facilities operations and power purchase agreements. Knowledge of wind, solar, hydroelectric and fuel cell facilities, smart grid and energy storage, and energy efficiency and demand-side management are preferred. The candidate must also possess a portable book of business and be an active member in good standing of the Bar.

 

Duties:

  • Counsel clients on various renewables projects, emphasizing facilities operations and power purchase agreements.
  • Handle litigation matters related to renewables projects, including disputes and contract negotiations.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on renewable energy laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and pleadings.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediation.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to clients on legal matters pertaining to renewable energy.

 

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Litigation Attorney.
  • Robust experience in renewables to complement the Firm’s energy practice.
  • Portable book of business.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • An active member in good standing of the Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of renewables projects and energy law.
  • Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex litigation matters efficiently.
  • Proven track record of client representation and business development.
